A Tale of Serendipity

Two longtime friends, with an affinity for travel and a love for Spain, began exploring Spain as far back as 1996, and found themselves drawn not only to the sunshine and the warmth of the people, but also to the delicious tastes of Mediterranean cuisine. The distinctive taste of Spanish olive oil prompted an interest in learning more about extra virgin olive oil, the central component in all Mediterranean cuisine.

In 2006, Bradley Proctor and Susan Smart arranged to visit a family-owned organic olive oil processing mill, located in the hills of Jaen, deep in the heart of Spain's olive region. Spending a day at the facilities, with a complete tour of everything from the groves to the processing plant itself, they found themselves especially impressed with the cleanliness of the organic process used, ending with a sampling of the product.

It was love at first taste.

They immediately established a relationship with the parent company, Soler Romero, and have since become the official distributors in the Southeastern United States of this wonderful product, under their company name, SALUD, Importers of Products of Spain.

They have often marvelled at the difference in taste between an extra-virgin organic Spanish olive oil and the olive oil found in most grocery stores. It is their hope that this website will bring to you a better understanding of the benefits of using an organic extra-virgin olive oil.
